Bad news for the solar system. If a blackhole was close enough to start eating the sun we’re in trouble. All the planets would start orbiting the black hole instead, as we watch are sun slowly get drained. The material sucked off the sun will turn into a thin really bright disk, if we’re lucky the disk will keep the Earth at the same temperature as what the sun did. More likely we’d be blasted with x-rays, that won’t be too great for life on Earth.
With the shift in the planets orbits, there’s a small chance we’d collide with mars or venus as well.
Luckily that will never happen (or at least anytime soon!)
      Fantastic question and great username,
