      Nothing fun 🙁
      As the Earth got closer to the sun, the oceans would evaporate and the crust would start to melt!
      All life on Earth would be burnt to a crisp.
      There would probably be a really big coronal mass ejection (an explosion of matter off the sun!) when the Earth hits the sun.

      That’s exactly what is going to happen in about 6billion years time! The sun will use up all its fuel and then start expanding out larger and larger until it merges with all the planets. We will all be dead before then though because as the Sun is using up all its energy so is getting colder and too cold for us to survive
